Tap forward or backward twice to dash.

You can pick up the ball while dashing.
Note that you can cancel your dash by fastfalling or by jumping.
Tap down while in the air to fastfall.
Fastfalling is an incredibly important technique both for scoring and for recovering the ball.

Players that have no jumps remaining are considered helpless.
It's very important to avoid becoming helpless, as
your manueverability is greatly reduced.
Getting hit while in this state causes more hitstun than
normal and can be devastating.
Characters that are helpess can grab the edge of the arena.
Jump or move to let go.
Note that your jumps will recharge while hanging onto the ledge.
If a character hits the ground while tumbling, he or she
will be knocked down for about a second.
Tap DOWN just before hitting the ground to get up more quickly.
Press LEFT or RIGHT while crouching or knocked down to roll.
Advanced players might use this technique to dodge attacks while on the ground.
Note that you can cancel your roll by attacking or jumping.
